Why We Founded Doxazo

Doxazo was created to bridge that gap.

Doxazo Workplace Solutions Inc. was founded from a simple but powerful observation: effective disability management is about more than managing claims, it is about supporting people.

As the founder of this company, throughout my career in disability management, I have worked on both sides of the process. I have collaborated with third-party disability management providers as well as employers who relied on external vendors to manage occupational and non-occupational claims.

While these organizations worked hard to meet operational goals, service standards, and legislative requirements, I consistently noticed a missing piece: the employee’s experience.

Many employees shared that during one of the most difficult periods of their lives, they felt unheard, uncertain, and disconnected. Their medical needs were being addressed, but their concerns, fears, and questions often went unanswered. Many simply needed someone to listen with empathy, provide clear information, and reassure them that they were not facing their recovery alone.

Where people feel supported, organizations become stronger.

At Doxazo, we strive to create that balance supporting employers in managing disability, absenteeism, and workplace health while ensuring employees feel heard, respected, and guided throughout the process.

We believe that compassionate communication is not separate from effective disability management—it is an essential part of it. Taking the time to listen, answer questions, and provide guidance can reduce anxiety, strengthen trust, and encourage a safe and confident return to work.

One experience has stayed with me throughout my career. During my first follow-up call with an employee who was off work, she immediately apologized and said, “I’m sorry… I don’t want to lose my job. I already sent my medical note to my manager.”

Instead of discussing paperwork, I simply asked, “How are you doing, how are you coping?”

There was a long pause before she became emotional. She later shared that no one had asked how she was coping since she had been away from work. During that conversation, I listened, answered her questions, and connected her with the appropriate support. Although her physician had anticipated a five-week absence, she contacted me two weeks later to say she felt ready to return to work. Her return was safe, successful, and well supported.

This experience was not unique. Similar conversations have reinforced one important lesson: when employees feel respected, informed, and genuinely supported, they are often more engaged in their recovery and more confident about returning to work

Our believe

When employees feel heard, respected, and supported, organizations become stronger.
